Rites to Be Friday for Mrs. Richard
Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Richard will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Sandin funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian church, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Burial will be at Oakhill cemetery.

Mrs. Richard died at 6:30 a.m. yesterday at Holy Family hospital of a heart attack after being ill only for a few days. She died at the age of 78.

Born Sept. 1, 1875 in Johnson county, she was educated in Sac county. On Nov. 2, 1896, she married David L. Richard in Sac county. Her maiden name was Nellie T. Woodling.

She and her husband farmed in Sac and Emmet counties, moving to Emmet county in 1910. Following her husband’s death on Dec. 6, 1941, she had been living with her son, Albert Richard of Wallingford and daughter, Mrs. Dewey Zaelke of Paradise, Calif.

Surviving her death are her son and daughter, eight grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Floyd Belt of Storm Lake and brother, H.E. Woodling of Seattle, Wash.

Her husband, a grandchild and three brothers preceded her in death.
