George Richard Dead; His Rites Are Tomorrow
George W. Richard, 79, a resident of Emmet county for many years, died yesterday at 9:30 a.m. at the county home. He had been in poor health for some time.

Richard was born July 11, 1861, [per cemetery records, 1862] at McConnelsburg, Pa. He is survived by two brothers, Dave, who lives in California, and Nick, who lives in Pennsylvania, one sister, Mrs. Mary Barmont, who also lives in Pennsylvania, and two nephews, Albert L. Richard of Wallingford and George Richard of Estherville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:45 p.m. tomorrow in the Mahlum and Anderson funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ. The Rev. Fred Sawyer will conduct the rites. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 18, 1941)
