Estherville – Services for Nellie R. Hatland, 94, Youngtown, Ariz., and formerly of Estherville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral, 103 North Ninth Street, Estherville, with the Rev. Robert Kunz of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died Friday, Jan. 17, 1986 at Valley View Hospital, Youngtown, Ariz.Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 23, 1891 in Graymount [Graymont], Ill., to William A. and Rosella (Wittenauer) Eisenhower, and received her education in Huntington and Estherville schools. In 1893 she moved to the Huntington area from Illinois as a young girl. On Oct. 4, 1911 she married Otto Reimer in Estherville and the couple farmed in the Huntington area from 1911 to 1946. The couple moved to Estherville and she continued to reside in Estherville until December of 1980 when she moved to Sun City, Ariz., to be near her daughter, Eileen. Otto Reimer died in 1948. In January of 1951 she was united in marriage with Joseph Hatland. He died in 1958. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Eileen Cook, Sun City, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Wayne (Linda) Manske, Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Jackson, Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. Lillian Mauck, Estherville; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Eisenhower, Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one infant son, three brothers Russell and Arnold and an infant; and two sisters, Lovella and Rosella. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 20, 1986)
