James Reeder, 51, Dies from Heart Trouble
James A. [Albert] Reeder, 51, died at 6 o’clock Fri. [May 17, 1946] night at Holy Family hospital after an illness of 11 days. He had been in poor health last winter and cause of his death was reported as heart trouble.He was born May 7, 1895, in Newport, Pa. In 1926 he came to Estherville and on Oct. 26 of that year married Lily [Lillie] Spratt in Estherville. He served for eight months in the army during World War I. Because of poor health he was not able to work after coming to Estherville.
Survivors include his wife, two brothers, Clarence of Estherville and Anderson of New Bloomfield, Pa., and five sisters, Belle Reeder and Mrs. Frank Reapsome of Wila, Pa.; Mrs. George Radle, New Bloomfield, Pa.; Mrs. Elma Beard, Carlisle, Pa., and Mrs. Albert Carver, Stephenson, Va.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Sternborg’s funeral chapel. Rev. John Cross officiated and burial was in Oakhill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1946)
