Rites to Be Tuesday for Glenn Olson
Funeral services for Glenn Ernest Olson, 52, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roy Hendrickson and the Rev. Vernon Tweedt officiating. A family service has been set for 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Olson died at 8:48 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Hospital. His death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill since Oct. 23.

He was born Sept. 25, 1911 in Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Olson. He received his education in the Estherville schools and on Dec. 31, 1938 he was wed to Joyce Fransdal in Estherville where he lived his entire life.

Until 1940 he had worked for the Rock Island Railroad and then he went to work for O.L. Anderson. He entered service in 1943 and was discharged in 1945. He returned to his work at Anderson and Schenck and later bought a partnership in the business with Raymond and Arnold Schenck when O.L. Anderson retired.

He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his widow Joyce, four daughters, Jeanne of Brusett, Mont.; Glenyce, attending Mankato State College; twins, Linda and Lois at home; one son, John at home.

Four sisters, Mrs. Guy Howard, Pine City, Minn.; Mrs. Bernard Kenny, Ridgewood, N.J.; Mrs. Marlin Severson, Webster City; Mrs. Howard Olson, Canton, S.D.; two brothers, Lewis of Pocahontas and Edwin of Estherville; and one half-sister, Mrs. Anna Boyd, Plankinton, S.D., also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and one half-brother.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home from today until 11 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the church until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Robert Howard, Wayne Severson, Lewis Olson Jr., Merrill Fransdal, Raymond J. Schenck and Ronald K. Schenck. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 2, 1963)
