Wilfred W. Osberg Dies
Wilfred Osberg, 65, of Estherville, died Saturday [August 10, 1968] at 9:30 p.m. of a sudden heart attack. Mr. Osberg was watching television when stricken.

Wilfred Walter Osberg was born June 21, 1928 [1903] at Dunnell, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred O. Osberg. He received his education there.

On Dec. 22, 1928, he was married to Helen Higgins in Estherville. For a time after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Osberg lived in Dunnell where Mr. Osberg was employed as a garage mechanic.

In 19— they moved to Estherville. Mr. Osberg worked as a mechanic for 25 years at Rhodes Motor Company. Because of his health, he retired in 1956.

His hobbies were fishing and hunting and he was a member of the Izaak Walton League.

He was a confirmed member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Dunnell.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Ivadell) Heidke, Jr., of New Orleans, La.; a son Donald E. of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren; his father, Alfred Osberg of Estherville; a sister, Mrs. Melvin Stringer of Fort Dodge; three brothers, Elmer of Estherville, Arnold of Fort Dodge and Kenneth of Dunnell.

Preceding him in death were his mother and a brother, Ardell.

Funeral services are to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Leland Kolpin, Frank Ramsey, Roy Chriistensen, James E. Waldron, Herman Rohde and Robert Berryhill. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 12, 1968)
