Estherville – Services for Glen Michael, 93, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with the Rev. Tom Balm of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Monday, June 23, 1986 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born May 24, 1893 at Terril, the son of Jonathan and Mary Jane (Hoisengton) Michael. He attended country school near Wallingford. On Nov. 22, 1915 he was united in marriage with Rachael Malvina Hensley at Silver Springs, Mo. After marriage the couple lived and worked in St. Louis, Mo. In 1918 they moved to Estherville where he was employed by the Rock Island Railroad on a section crew. In 1922 they moved to Minnesota where he farmed. They returned to Estherville and he was an auto mechanic for Sorum Brothers Auto Dealership. In 1926 he purchased the South Side Service Station which he operated until 1953 when he retired. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews including Mrs. Elva Thornburg and Mrs. Edgar (Iva) Kleen, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sept. 26, 1963, parents, five brothers and four sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 25, 1986)
