Mrs. A.G. Metzger, 83, Dies After Suffering Stroke
Mrs. A.G. Metzger, 83, of Estherville died Saturday [August 12, 1944] at 3 p.m. Mrs. Metzger suffered a stroke last Monday and became steadily weaker.

Mary Elizabeth Schumacher was born Nov. 17, 1861, at Milwaukee. She attended a convent school at Milwaukee and in 1883, at the age of 19, she was married to Andrew George Metzger, who died four years ago. The Metzger family made its home in Estherville for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Metzger is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Metzger of Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. T.T. McConnell of Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. James A. Cummings of Spencer, five grandchildren and one great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. in the Estherville Episcopal church with the Episcopal minister of Fairmont, Minn., officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 14, 1944)
