Funeral services for Edna [Meyer] Culbertson, 95, of Ringsted will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted with Pastor Harold Heinzig officiating. Interment will be held at the Swan Lake Township Cemetery. She died on Dec. 15, 2000 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Ringsted.

She received her education in the Lutheran Parochial School in Lotts Creek. On Feb 12, 1930 she was united in marriage to Merle Culbertson at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fenton. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in Kossuth and Emmet counties. She has been a resident of the good Samaritan Center Apartments for the last four years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, baking and gardening. She has been an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ringsted since 1950 where she was also a past member of the Church Circle.

She is survived by six daughters. Shirley Nelson of Orleans, Larue Bradshaw of Arnolds Park, Kathleen Quastad and husband Don "Skip" of Spirit Lake, Sylvia Tabor and husband Chet of Dallas, Texas, Sondra Walsh and husband Darrel of Edgemont. Ark. and Connie Monk and husband Bob of Roanoke, Ill.; six sons, Francis Culbertson and wife Velma of Titonka, Lyle Culbertson and special friend Twila of Graettinger, Gordon Culbertson and wife Doloris of Wallingford, Gary Culbertson and wife Kathy of Estherville, Emory Culbertson and wife Rosie of Emmetsburg and Daniel Culbertson and wife Joyce of Edgemont; 33 grandchildren; 63 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Alma Rehmer of Terryville, Mo. and two sister-in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three grandsons, one great grandchild, her parents, seven brothers and sisters, one daughter-in law and two son-in-laws. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 16, 2000)
