Mrs. Linegar, 76, Dies; Funeral Held Thursday
Mrs. Alpha Linegar, 76, mother of Mrs. Roy Thrush, died at her home on North Ninth street at 8:45 p.m. Monday [July 23, 1945] after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Linegar had lived in Emmet county since 1904.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thrush, a son, Clarence Frederick of Los Angeles; a granddaughter, Mrs. Don Bollard and a great grandson, now of Big Spring, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Roy Thrush home and at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church.

Burial was made in Oakhill cemetery where Mr. Linegar, who died in 1934, is buried. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, July 26, 1945)

Alpha A. Linegar
Alpha A. Linegar was born Oct. 1, 1868, in Creston, Lake county, Ind. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Nebraska where she spent her girlhood and young womanhood.

On May 17, 1899, she was united in marriage to Edward Linegar at Hastings, Neb. Four years later she came with her husband to live on a farm south of Gruver and spent the remainder of her life in this county.

She remained on the farm south of Gruver until coming to Estherville where she has been a resident for several years.

Mrs. Linegar was a member of the Methodist church, being active in the Ladies’ Aid society and the Sunday school.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Grace Thrush of Estherville, a son, Clarence Frederick of Los Angeles, Calif., a granddaughter, Marian Bollard, and a great grandson, Donnie Bollard of Big Spring, Texas. She is survived also by two sisters, Mrs. Alma O’Neal of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Mrs. Hattie Cole of Hastings, Neb.; and two brothers, Clayton Palmer of Hastings, Neb.; and Martin Palmer of Heglar, Idaho.

Relatives who attended the Linegar funeral from out of town were Mrs. W.A. Cole, Clayton Palmer, Mrs. Cora Craft and Clarence Cropley, of Hastings, Neb.; and Mrs. E.W. Linegar of Shenandoah. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 28, 1945)
