Mrs. Louis Larsen Dies at Age of 72
Mrs. Louis (Laura) Larsen, 72, longtime resident of this area, died at 6:55 this morning at a local rest home. She had been in ill health for the past year, afflicted with Parkinson’s disease. Death was attributed to that and old age complications.

Mrs. Larsen, nee Laura Marguerite Jepsen, was born Aug. 22, 1885 at Cedar Falls, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Jepsen. When a young girl, the Jepsen family moved to Peterson where they lived for a few years before moving to the Ringsted community. Mrs. Larsen received her education in both Peterson and Ringsted schools.

On May 24, 1904 she was united in marriage to Louis Hans Larsen at Ringsted. The couple lived at Ringsted until 1925 when they moved to Chicago. In 1929 they returned to this area and settled in Estherville, residing here since. Mr. Larsen was a building contractor at Ringsted for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Stanley of Estherville and Einer of Downers Grove, Ill.; four grandchildren; and seven sisters, Mrs. Mary Christensen of Minneapolis, Mrs. Clark Godden of Algona, Mrs. peter Henricksen, Mrs. Emil Mouritsen and Mrs. Carl Fink, all of Ringsted; Mrs. Andrew Anderson of Burbank, Calif., and Mrs. Erik Davidson of Danville, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Methodist church, the Rev. William Noland officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services. The casket will not be opened after services.

Friends may call at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home from tomorrow until 10 a.m. Thursday at which time the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 11, 1958)
