Mrs. O. Koehler Dies at 75; Ill For Past Year
Mrs. O.H. Koehler, 75, of Estherville died at 7 a.m. today at her home on North Fourth street. Deeath was due to a heart ailment and other complications from which she suffered for almost a year.Milly Amanda Barber was born Oct. 3, 1868, on her parents’ homestead three miles north of Estherville. She has lived in this community all her life.
Milly Barber was united in marriage Oct. 1, 1890, to Oscar H. Koehler. A daughter, Anna and a son Frank A. were born to their union. Anna Koehler lives at home and Frank is living in Tampa, Fla.
Mrs. Koehler is also survived by a sister, Mrs. William Luikart and a brother, Henry A. Barber, both of Estherville, several nieces and nephews. A sister, Libbie E. Barber, and a brother, Dr. Frank A. Barber preceded her in death.
Funeral services have not been arranged. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 7, 1944)

Pioneer of County is Laid to Rest Yesterday After Years Illness
Mrs. O.H. Koehler, 75, passed away at her home on North Fourth street at seven a.m. Friday morning after a year’s illness with a heart ailment and other complications. Her health had been failing even before her last critical illness.Born Milly Amanda Barber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Barber on their homestead three miles north of Estherville, the deceased woman had spent almost her entire life in this community. She was married Oct. 1, 1890 to Oscar H. Koehler and her life has been devoted to her husband and the children, Anna and Frank, who were born to this union. Miss Anna resides in Estherville and Frank and family at Tampa, Fla.
Surviving are the husband, two children, one sister, Mrs. Wm. Luikart and a brother, Frank [Henry A.] Barber, both of Estherville. One sister, Miss Libbie Barber, and a brother, Dr. Frank Barber, have preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home and at 2:30 p.m. from the Union Baptist church with the Rev. G.T. Forssell officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, January 13, 1944)
