Mrs. E.W. Knight, 81, Dies After Long Illness
Funeral Services To Be Held Tuesday Afternoon
Mrs. E.W. Knight, 81, died Sunday [August 26, 1945] morning at her home on North Sixth street, after being in poor health for several years.

She had lived at Estherville for 54 years and had been a member of the Estherville Presbyterian church for more than 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian church at Estherville. The Rev. J.M. Kennedy will be in charge. Friends of the family may call at the Mahlum and Sandin funeral chapel until Tuesday noon as the casket will not be open at the church. Burial will be at Oakhill cemetery.

Mrs. Knight, who before her marriage to Ellsworth W. Knight in 1880 was Mary Lyon Childs, was born Jan. 19, 1864, at Rockford. She was the second daughter of John Spencer and Lydia Lyon Childs.

Surviving her are her husband, five children, Gertrude and Robert, both of Estherville; Genevieve, who is now Mrs. Roy W. Bixler of Washington, D.C.; Agnes, now Mrs. Russell H. Landis of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Leonard W. Childs of Long Beach, Calif., and four grandchildren.
