1918-1979
Estherville – Otto LeRoy Klein Jr., 60, Estherville, died Tuesday [January 23, 1979] morning at the Sioux Falls, S.D., Care Center.

Services for Mr. Klein will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Harmon and the Rev. Fred Sawyer officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home after 11 a.m. Thursday until noon Friday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Klein was born Sept. 3, 1918, at Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Klein Sr. He graduated from Estherville High School in 1937 and lived his entire life in Estherville.

He was married to Ann [Higbie] Garrison on April 5, 1975, at Spencer. He worked for the Estherville Creamery for 25 years and then purchased the Estherville Recreation Club, which he owned and operated for 10 years.

Mr. Klein was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, Estherville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Klein, Sr., Estherville; three step children, Robert Garrison, Deltona, Fla., Richard Garrison, Arnolds Park, and Mrs. Lloyd Pettiecord, Spencer; four grandchildren; two brothers, Walt Klein, Clarkston, Wash., and Jim Klein, Carlisle; and two sisters, Mrs. Jim Johnson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Adeline Klein, Titonka.

Mr. Klein was preceded in death by one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 24, 1979)
