Otto Klein
Estherville – Services for Otto Jacob Klein, 89, will be held Monday at the Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Kunz officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Friday, July 27, 1984, at his home.Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville from 3-7 p.m. Sunday.
Klein was born March 9, 1895 at Estherville, the son of Peter and Barbara (Beilharz) Klein. He received his education in rural Estherville schools. On Oct. 17, 1917 he was united in marriage with Irene Wratten at Estherville. They farmed several years before moving into Estherville where Klein was employed as a machinist on the Rock Island Railroad from 1923 until his retirement. He was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, Estherville; two daughters, Adeline Klein, Titonka Care Center, Titonka and Mrs. James (Eileen) Johnson, Golden Valley, Minn.; two sons, Walter Klein, Clarkston, Wash. and Eugene James Klein, Carlisle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Klein, North Dakota and Henry Klein, Estherville; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Cummins, Armstrong and Mrs. Ethel Richard, Estherville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Otto Jr. and Howard and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 28, 1984)
