Mrs. Lilly House, Ex-Estherville Resident, Dies
Mrs. Lilly [Lillie] House, former Estherville resident and sister of Mrs. C.W. Ditch, died 8:10 a.m. Sunday [May 29, 1949] at Woodriver, Ill., of heart disease. She had been suffering from heart disease for a number of years.Mrs. House’s body will be returned to Estherville for burial.
She was born Sept. 7, 1869, in Monmouth, Ill., and received her education there. At about 23 years of age, she moved to Estherville, later marrying Albert House, a local farmer. The couple farmed near Estherville for a number of years, moving in 1913 to Wadena, Minn. After Albert died in 1930, Mrs. House moved to Woodriver to make her home. She was a member of the United Brethren church.
Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Ditch, a brother, Claude Hewitt of Terril and another brother, Harley Hewett, of Tracy, Minn.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 31, 1949)
