Mrs. Anna Hoffman Dies
Mrs. Anna Marie Hoffman, 73, longtime resident of Estherville, died at 10:40 p.m. yesterday at Holy Family Hospital. Cause of death was attributed to a stroke which she suffered at 4:40 p.m. yesterday.Mrs. Hoffman was born June 16, 1886 in Grundy County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Anderson. Her parents moved to Emmet County when she was a small girl. She received her education in the Emmet County schools. She was married to Emil Hoffman in September, 1910. Mr. Hoffman was a cabinet maker in Estherville. He died in July, 1946.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by three sons, Ray of Duluth, Minn., Vern of Mason City and Clarence of Estherville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Ted Munsterman of Terril; three sisters, Mrs. Tom (Laura) Ruckman of Estherville, Mrs. Ray (Olga) Howard of Independence, Ore., Mrs. Herman (Carrie) Schmidt of Lisbon, N.D. and one brother, Martin of Glencoe, Minn. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church with the Rev. Lester D. Strubhar officiating. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sternborg Funeral Home from tomorrow evening until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 25, 1959)
