Edward Ed Rost a long time resident of Estherville died unexpectedly yesterday [April 27, 1966] following a heart attack.

Mr. Rost suffered the attack while working at the George [illegible] farm. He was rushed by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Edward James Rost was born April 3, 1892 in Jackson County, Minn., the son of Charles and Minnie Rost. He moved with his parents to Emmet County when a young adult and received his education in Jackson County Minn. schools.

He was married in October 1915 to Augusta Ernest of Estherville. Mr. and Mrs. Rost had lived their married life here. For many years he was an employee for the Rock Island Railway. For the next [illegible] years he worked as engineer for the former Tobin Packing Co and later John Morrell and Co. He retired from Morrell's when he was 65.

Mr. Rost was a member of the Estherville Fire Department for more than [illegible] years and a member of [illegible] Lodge.

He is survived by his wife; a son Perl J. Rost of Estherville; four grandsons: James and Edward of Estherville and Paul and Lon of River Falls, Wis.; and two sisters: Mrs. Roy (Clara) Goggin of Estherville and Mrs. Harry (Etta) Shreeves of [illegible].

He was preceded in death by one son Alfred and his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Rost will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Rev James Fangman officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Friday at Fuhrman Funeral Home.
