James Elkin
Oakland, Calif. – Services for James E. Elkin, 53, were held at Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake, Iowa on Saturday, Aug. 31, he died Monday, August 26, 1991 at his home in Oakland. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville with military graveside rites by VFW Post No. 3388 and American Legion Post No. 91 of Estherville.

He was born November 18, 1937 at Estherville, the son of Roland and Helen (Swartz) Elkin. He was retired from the U.S. Navy.

Elkin is survived by his father Roland of Wall Lake and two brothers, Delbert of Early and Otis of Council Bluffs. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 7, 1991)
