Wallace H. Lynch Dies

Wallace Henry Lynch, 64, a lifetime resident of the Estherville community, died about 10 a.m. today at the State University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Exact cause of his death is not known but he has been suffering from chronic bronchitis, enlargement of the heart and dropsy.

Mr. Lynch's wife and two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Lauretta) Welp and Mrs. William (May) Snyder, both of Estherville, just returned last night from visiting him at Iowa City.

He was born June 27, 1892, in Estherville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Lynch, and grew up on a farm near Estherville. He attended elementary school at Estherville and helped on his parents farm for several years.

On May 23, 1917, Mr. Lynch was married to Mary Ellen (Mayme) Evans at St. Patrick's Church by the Rev. Father J.J. Murtagh. At various times he worked for the Rock Island railroad, Northern Lumber Company, Fred Ellis as a plasterer, Lewis Larson as a plasterer and as a self-employed painter.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and two daughters, include six grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. The brothers are Art of Superior and Ray of Waterloo and the sister is Mrs. Grover (Ruth) Newton of Spirit Lake.

Sternborg's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will be held at St. Patrick's Church and burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery. Time of services and other funeral arrangements have not been completed yet but will be published in tomorrow's Daily News. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 4, 1957)

Callers at the Wallace Lynch home at Estherville Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. William Ditch of Mallard, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hagen of Cylinder, Mr. and Mrs. Carl O達rien and Mr. and Mrs. Joe O達rien and son Bill, all of Emmetsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Joe O達rien remained to attend last rites for Mrs. O達rien痴 brother-in-law, Wallace Lynch, who died Friday [January 4, 1957] in University hospital at Iowa City following three weeks illness. Mrs. Lynch and Mrs. O達rien are sisters. (Democrat, Estherville, IA, January 10, 1957)
