Mrs. Denison, 75, Estherville Woman, Dies
Funeral Services Will Be Held on Thursday.
Mrs. C.L. Denison, 75, of Estherville died last night at the Park View clinic where she had been a patient for the past several days.Mrs. Denison was born Aug. 18, 1869, in Clinton county. Her maiden name was Mary Melinda Patterson. She was united in marriage April 8, 1908, to Charles Denison at Elwood. There were no children.
Move to Greenville
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Denison moved to Greenville where they lived for several years. From there they moved to Spencer and then to Wallingford in 1919 where they lived until 1922. In the year 1922 the Denisons moved to Estherville where they have lived since.Mrs. Denison is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. R.E. French of Estherville and Mrs. Josephine Barnes of Spencer and by two brothers, E.S. Patterson of Spencer and G.A. Patterson of Mitchell, S.D.
Rites at Church
Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.Funeral services are being planned for Thursday and will be held at 2 p.m. from the Sternborg funeral chapel and at 2:30 p.m. from the Methodist church. The Rev. C.J. Semans will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakhill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 6, 1944)

Funeral services were held this afternoon at two o’clock at the Sternborg Chapel and at the Methodist church at two –thirty for Mrs. Mary Denison who passed away at the Park View Clinic at nine p.m. Monday.Mary Malinda Patterson was born in Clinton county, Iowa, August 12 [18], 1896 [1869] daughter of Samuel G. and Mary J. Hiner Patterson. At an early age she was united with the Methodist church of Elwood, Ia. While still in her teens she moved with her parents to Clay county. She was united in marriage to Charles LaMott Denison on April 8, 1908, at Elwood. They made their first home at Greenville, later farming near Spencer. Since 1914 Mr. and Mrs. Denison have resided in Estherville or vicinity.
Mrs. Dennison passed away at the Park View Clinic at 9 p.m. on Monday, June 5, after a month’s illness. She is survived by her husband; two sisters, Mrs. R.E. French of Estherville; and Mrs. C.R. Barnes of Spencer; two brothers, F.S. Patterson of Spencer, and G.A. Patterson of Mitchell, S.D.; two nieces, Mrs. C.D. McIntire, of Marcus; and Mrs. L.L. Jones of Estherville; and a nephew, I.W. French of Estherville.
Pallbearers were John Darling, George Lyman, Ben Reeves, Chas. Heidecker, Sherman Ellwood and Carl Walz. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 8, 1944)
