Funeral Services for Marian T. Wicks, 87, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Estherville with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville. She died on June 14, 2000 at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman funeral Home in Estherville. A parish vigil service will also be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on April 28, 1913 in Minneapolis, Minn. the daughter of Frank and Annadale (Anderson) Wilcox. She received her education at St. Margaret's Academy and following her graduation from high school she attended college at St. Mark's School in St. Paul, Minn. On Dec. 29, 1941 she was united in marriage to Charles T. Dukes at the Basilica of St. Mary's in Minneapolis. She lived in Minneapolis, Omaha, Neb and Chicago, Ill. She was a buyer at the Dayton company in Minneapolis. Charles died in 1957. On June 9, 19621 she was united in marriage to Alvie B. Wicks at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville. She served on Bishop Mueller's Catholic Census commission and also worked for Monsignor Duhigg on the Building fund and in his office. Alvie died in 1994. She enjoyed fishing. She was member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville, the Altar and Rosary society and a 50 member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Joanne Archameau of Marty, S.D. and Marian Grooters and husband Allen of Mason City and one cousin, Dr. Marcella La Monte of Lake Elmo, Minn. She was preceded in death by both her husbands, her parents, on brother and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, June 16, 2000)
