DAVIS, Calif. - Harold L. Bacon, 78, died Jan. 27, 1989 at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento. He was a former Estherville resident.

Bacon was born [Dec. 26, 1910] in Mason City and moved to Davis in 1964 after operating a grocery business in Estherville several years. In Davis he was chief custodian of Birch Lane Elementary School until retiring in 1980.

Survivors include his children; Bill of Dixon; John, Minneapolis; Dennis, Fulton, Mich.; Robert, Centralia, Wash.; Richard, Davis; Barbara Davis of Marysville and Susie Lasker, Davis; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister Geraldine Smith, Ceylon, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret in 1951. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 15, 1989)
