Estherville – Services for William Clark, 91, of Estherville, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Reverend John P. Besore, III officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. He died Wednesday, September 15, 1993k at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.Visitation will be Thursday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
He was born in Estherville, Iowa on October 30, 1901, the son of Robert and Mary (Jones) Clark, and received his education at the Estherville schools and attended Morgan Park Military Academy in Chicago, Ill. He was united in marriage to Etta D. Reed on March 19, 1924 in Spirit Lake. He farmed south of Estherville until 1936. In 1937, he and Walter Schultz opened a real estate and insurance office in Estherville. He operated the business alone from 1948 until he retired in 1967. His wife, Etta, died in January of 1972. He remarried in November of 1973 to Irene Wieland in Des Moines. He was a member of the Good Samaritan Center since September of 1988.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a past president of the Estherville Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Airport Commission. He was a charter member of the Izaak Walton League and served nine years on the Estherville School Board of Education. He served as a board director from 1937 to 1983 on the Farmers Casualty Ins. He served as vice president for the last fifteen years.
His survivors include his wife Irene Clark of Estherville, two daughters, Lois Fuss of Spirit Lake and Kathryn Mustard of Longmont, Colo.; one sister, Margaret Clark of Estherville; two grandchildren and two great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 16, 1993)
