Rites to be Tuesday for Mrs. Clark
Mrs. R. S. (Mary Eunice) Clark 85, died yesterday at 10:58 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. She had been hospitalized for a month.She was born August 17, 1873 in a Welsh settlement near Sparta, Wisconsin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Jones. They moved to Emmet county in a covered wagon to a farm in High Lake Township when Mary was nine months old. They lived there for 35 years and then moved in a new home on S. 8th St. in Estherville.
Mrs. Clark graduated from Estherville High School in 1893, the third class to graduate from the school. She was married to Robert S. Clark in June 16, 1893. They first lived on the Clark farm south of town, and in 1928 moved to their home at 1125 N. 6th St. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1943. Mr. Clark died in 1948.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the United Methodist church and a charter member of WSCS.
She is survived by one daughter; Margaret Clark; one son; William; two granddaughters; Mrs. Curt (Lois) Dunlaney of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Eldie (Kathryn) Mustard Jr. of Boone, and one great granddaughter, Kristyn Lynn Mustard. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. J. W. Thomas of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Mrs. B.T. Osher of Estherville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church, the Rev. William R. Noland officiating. A family service will be held at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Friends may call there until time of services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are W.A. Schultz, Belva Ross, Arnold Mouritsen, Bert Swanson, W.C. Sidles, and J.P. Christensen. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 20, 1959)
