Mesa, Ariz. – Funeral services for Gladys McDonough, 88, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Estherville will be held Thursday, June 3 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mesa. Interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Mesa. She died on Sunday, May 30 at Mesa Lutheran Hospital.

Lakeshore Mortuary of Mesa will be handling arrangements.

She was born on July 18, 1910 in Estherville, the daughter of Thomas and Bertha Juhl. She was united in marriage to Arthur West on June 9, 1926. Arthur died October 1959. She then married Floyd McDonough on Sept. 30, 1961. He died September 1997.

She is survived by four children, Wayne West of Estherville; Virgil West of Wallingford, Joyce Alger and Larry West of Mesa; a sister, Vivian Goodwin of Dubuque; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four grandchildren. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 1, 1999)
