Mrs. Maude Anderson Dies at 80
Mrs. Maude [Maude Catherine Carmody] Anderson, 80, longtime resident of Estherville, died this morning at Holy Family Hospital.Mrs. Anderson had been in failing health for some time and had been in the hospital for several weeks.
She was the widow of the late Charles S. Anderson, Estherville funeral director for many years. He died about 20 years ago.
Funeral services are pending at Sternborg – Reese Funeral Home.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 17, 1964)
Anderson Funeral To Be Tuesday
Mrs. Charles S. (Maude Catherine) Anderson, 80, died Saturday morning at Holy Family Hospital.She had been in failing health since June.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Reese Funeral Home, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today until time of the services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Otto Grimm, Walter Schultz, Harry Jones, Glen Hackett, R.S. Knight and Gordon Sheltren.
Mrs. Anderson was born June 16, 1884, in Rippey, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carmody. She received her elementary education in Rippey and attended high school in Florence, Colo.
On Oct. 25, 1906, she married Charles Anderson in Florence. He operated a dry goods store there and was in the furniture business until his death in 1943.
She was a member of Rebecca Lodge, W.R.C. Club, U.P.W. and the First Presbyterian Church and past president of the Past Noble Grands.
She is survived by a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, one sister and one brother preceded her in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 19, 1964)
