Estherville – Servicers for Mrs. Herbert (Lorah) Allen, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home. She died Monday in the University of Iowa Hospital at Iowa City. Interment will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Rev. John Bowe of the Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Lorah Shepard was born Jan. 31, 1908 at Superior, the daughter of Clyde and Adeline Shepard. She attended the Jackson, Minn. schools. On April 5, 1928 she married Herbert Allen in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Estherville. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert, Estherville; three sons: George, Santa Barbara, Calif., Charles, Huntsville, Ala. and Don, Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Robert Rizer, St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Caine, Jackson, Minn., one brother, Stewart Shepard, Wichita, Kans.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 10, 1982)
