Estherville – Mrs. Chet (Virginia) Pierson, 62, Estherville, died Thursday [October 29, 1981] morning at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Estherville. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, and friend may all after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Osteen, she was born Feb. 21, 1919, at St. Joseph, Mo. She received her education in the Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School. On March 10, 1937, she was married to Chester C. Pierson in Sioux City. They came to Estherville in October, 1947, where he was associated with John Morrell and Company until his retirement.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the Emmet County Republican Women, the Altar and Rosary Society, Holy Family Hospital Auxiliary and the Community Concert Association.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Barbara Stockdale, Lajolla, Calif.; one sister, Arlyne Corley, San Ramon, Calif.; one brother, Stanley Osteen, Sioux City; and three grandchildren.
