Estherville – Former Alaskan resident Kenneth Wayne Brown, 77, passed from this earth on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 in Costa Rica. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville with Father Jerry Cosgrove officiating.Kenny as he was called was born on Dec. 2, 1922 in Estherville to Charles and Fern Brown.
After serving in the Navy in World War II, Kenny had a traveling spirit and made many friends.
He was a well driller in Washington and Montana. He drove truck as a teamster throughout the United States. Kenny lived in Las Vegas, Nev. during his daughters’ school years.
He went to Alaska in 1974 to work on the pipeline. In 1985 Kenny retired and moved to the warm climate of Costa Rica.
Kenny is survived by his daughters, Donna Joswiak of Fairbanks, Alaska and Kay Ward of Las Vegas; son-in-law Steven Joswiak and grandson Charles Joswiak of Fairbanks; granddaughter Billy Kay Porter and grandson David Porter of Las Vegas; sister Marie Cimrhakl and brother-in-law Frank Cimrhakl of Roy, Mont.; nephews Dan and Bob Crimrhakl of Roy; nieces Judy Thompson of Roy and Virginia Durrins of Portland, Ore.
