Mrs. Elizabeth Harmon - A resident of Glenwood many years died last week at Estherville Iowa where the family moved several years ago. Survived by six children at Estherville and son Elmer Harmon, north of Glenwood. (Mills County Tribune, IA, February 33, 1911)
Death of Mrs. E. Harmon
Mrs. E. Harmon died at her home on Pleasant street at eleven o’clock Tuesday morning, January 24th. She had been sick for some time, having had a paralytic stroke two years ago. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon and the remains interred in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Democrat has been handed the following obituary:“Mrs. [Elizabeth Scott] Harmon was born in Ohio March 14, 1839. She was married in Floyd county, Iowa, in 1858. Later the family moved to Mills county and there Mr. Harmon died thirty years ago this month. Mrs. Harmon moved to Estherville in 1889 and has lived here most of the time since. Her children are: F.M. Harmon, Miss Lena Harmon, W.H. Harmon, C.H. Harmon and Mr. Clause Henkins, of this place; Elmer S. Harmon of Glenwood, and Mrs. Emma Leary, of Cedar Rapids.
