Estherville – Services for Mack J. Peterson, 71, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Neal Armstrong of the Gruver Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1986 at his farm home near Estherville.

He was born January 15, 1915 at Estherville, the son of Harry C. and Mary (Haar) Peterson. He attended Emmet Consolidated School graduating in 1933 and attended the Chicago School of Technology. On April 16, 1938 he was united in marriage with Helen G. Anderson at Rockwell City. He lived his entire life in the Estherville area where he was engaged in farming. He also owned and operated the River View Golf Course the past 20 years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Brotherhood of Protective Order of Elks.

Survivors include his wife Helen, Estherville; one son Mike Peterson and his wife Arliss, Shawnee Mission, Kans.; grandchildren: Rebecca, Brad; and Craig; and great-granddaughter Jennifer Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons Randy and Scott. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 1, 1986)
