Estherville – Funeral services for Olive A. Johnson, 77, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2000 at the Good Samaritan Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Jack Torgerson officiating. Interment will be held at the High Lake Cemetery in Wallingford. She died on July 27, 2000 at the Covington Heights Care Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home Chapel in Estherville.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1922 in Wallingford, the daughter of Johnnie and Thelma (Pranke) Johnson.

She attended country school and lived at the Woodward State Hospital until she was a young adult and then the Emmet County Farm. She then lived at care facilities in Emmetsburg. For the last 16 years she has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. She was employed at ECHO, Inc. in Estherville.

She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two brothers, Paul Johnson of Storm Lake and Ole Johnson and wife Karen of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Joan Tehran of Lompoc, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 28, 2000)
