Local Woman Dies at 94 in Hospital.
Mrs. Charles Christian, 94, of Estherville, died this morning at 1:05 o’clock at Holy Family Hospital. Death was attributed to infirmities of advanced age.Christina Julia Paulson was born Oct. 25, 1870, to Gunnar and Anna Paulson at Lodi, Wis. She moved as a child with her parents to Palo Alto County and in March 1891 was married to Charles Christian in Palo Alto County. They farmed in Jack Creek township for many years, and in 1945 she moved to Estherville. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Christian is survived by four sons, Gilbert of Mason City, Carl of Denver, Colo., Milford of Ringsted and Edward of Tracy, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Ann) Bringle of Fairmont and Mrs. Agnes Engholm of Bancroft; one brother, Simon Paulson of Estherville; 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, one son, two grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Estherville Lutheran Church, Rev. Roy Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in High Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home from anytime Wednesday until noon Thursday, at which time the body will be taken to lie in state until time of services.
