E.D. Beesaw, Wallingford, Dies at 80
Edwin D. [David] Besaw [Beesaw], Wallingford retired farmer, died yesterday morning at Holy Family hospital of a heart ailment. He had been in the hospital one week although he was in poor health for about six years.Survivors include his wife, four daughters, one son, five brothers, 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Beesaw home in Wallingford and 2 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran church with the Rev. C.B. Gunderson officiating. Burial will be in High Lake cemetery.
Mr. Beesaw was born March 25, 1870 in Calhoun county, Ill. He was educated in Calhoun county schools. He worked with his parents on their farm until his marriage in 1902 to Mary Barnhart. The couple moved to Palo Alto county about 38 years ago where they lived on various farms near Emmetsburg and Graettinger until Mr. Beesaw retird 13 years ago. They had lived in Wallingford since Mr. Beesaw retired.
He was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church at Wallingford and the Woodmen Association of America.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Mabel, four daughters, Mrs. John (Rita) Schubert, Carthage, Mo.; Mrs. Mike (Lena) Stollmach, Terril; Mrs. Leslie (Dora) Spencer, and Mrs. Victor (Hazel) Luehring of Wallingford, and one son, Clifford Beesaw of Ogilvie, Minn. One son, Obe S. Beesaw was killed in service during World War II, a third son die in infancy.
Five brothers live in Illinois.
Pall bearers at the service Friday will be Bud Root, Stanley Young, Milo Jacobson, Kenneth Clark, Oscar Peterson, Everett Osher, James Kasa, Ed Dewall and Duane Stober. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 18, 1950)
