West Union – Service for Brad Alan Thompson, 23, formerly of Spirit Lake, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. He died Sunday, Sept. 24, 1989 in Hamilton Community Hospital, Webster City.Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born April 5, 1966 at Estherville, the son of Hugh and Virginia (Torreson) Thompson and was a graduate of Terril High School in 1984. He attended South Dakota State University at Brookings one year and graduated from Iowa State University at Ames in 1988. Following graduation from Iowa State University he worked for the State Department of Banking and was living in West Union. He was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed.
Survivors include his parents Hugh and Virginia Thompson, Spirit Lake; one brother, Todd, Oskaloosa; one sister Holly Thompson, Spirit Lake; and paternal grandmother Mrs. Lois Thompson, Emmetsburg.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 26, 1989)
