Spirit Lake – Services for Mrs. Vernon (Glenna) Stall, Spirit Lake, formerly of the Gruver Lutheran Church, Spirit Lake with the Rev. James Quitno officiating; interment was in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery, Wallingford. She died Thursday, May 14, 1987 at her home following a long illness. Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Glenna Marie Reed was born Jan. 29, 1912 at Burns, Wyo., the daughter of James and Blanche (Horton) Reed. She attended Burns and Estherville Schools. On June 27, 1931 she was united in marriage with Vernon Floyd Stall at Estherville. The couple farmed for many years in the Gruver area; after retirement they moved to Spirit Lake where she was employed at the Ben Franklin Store and cleaners. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. As a child she was baptized in the Union Baptist Church at Estherville and later confirmed at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church rural Estherville.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon, Spirit Lake; daughters: Muriel Dreke, Sibley; Gladys Mustard, Gruver; Helen, So. Sioux City, Neb. and Shirley Jones, Grand Rapids, Minn.; sister hazel Wylder, Tacoma, Wash.; brother Max Reed, Hopkins, Minn.; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons; parents; sister; and four brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 20, 1987)
