Wallingford – Services for Rose K. Snedecor, 99, of Bella Vista, Ark. formerly of Wallingford, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson and Pastor Stan Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Wednesday, July 17, 1991 at Concordia Care Center, Bella Vista.

Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 1, 1891 at New Richmond, Wis., the daughter of Edmund and Julia (Jacobson) Knutsen and attended New Richmond schools. She was a secretary in the Minneapolis Grain Exchange and also studied voice. After World War I she married Otis Jorstad at Wallingford where she also served as Postmaster for 22 years. After Jorstad’s death she lived in California, later married J. Gayle Snedecor of Rhodes. She moved to Granada Hills, Calif. in 1959, and to Arkansas in 1984 where she joined the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista. She had been active in Wallingford Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star in Estherville and Emmet County Republican Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Rekedal, Bella Vista; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and four step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 20, 1991)
