Wallingford – Francis I. “Fritz” Skattebo, 88, Wallingford, died Saturday, April 4, 1987 at his rural Wallingford home.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Wallingford Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born March 22, 1899 on a farm north of Wallingford to Knute and Mary (Berge) Skattebo. He received his education at rural Emmet County Schools. He married Wava Spaulding on Feb. 7, 1943 at Jackson, Minn. He lived his entire life in the Wallingford area. He farmed from 1936 until he retired in 1963. The couple moved into Wallingford after his retirement. He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wava, Wallingford; a sister-in-law, Grace Skattebo, Wallingford; 4 nephews; 5 nieces and great nephews and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 6, 1987)
