Wallingford – Services for Grace Elsine Skattebo, 87, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, April 7, 1992 at Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 4 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Oct. 14, 1904 at Graettinger, the daughter of Nes and Lena (Knudson) Matsen and attended country school near Graettinger. On Jan. 1, 1929 she married Loyed Skattebo at Estherville. She lived all her life in the Graettinger and Wallingford area. She was baptized and confirmed in South Walnut Church near Graettinger. She was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: two grandsons Andy Skattebo, Iowa City and Dan Skattebo, Graettinger; one daughter-in-law, Lois Skattebo Wallingford; two sisters-in-law: Irma Matsen, Ames and Wava Skattebo, Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons, and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 9, 1992)
