Wallingford – Services for Mrs. Arnold (Almira) Anderson, 80, Wallingford, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery. She died Monday, April 9, 1984 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.Friends may call at Henry & Olson Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born June 12, 1903, in High Lake Township of Emmet County, the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Peterson) Paulson. She attended High Lake Country School. Her mother died when she was 17 and she helped her father raise two younger brothers. On Sept. 1, 1926 she married Arthur Skattebo in Wallingford. The couple farmed north of Wallingford until purchasing a farm east of Wallingford. After retirement they moved into Wallingford. Arthur died on Oct. 24, 1954. On Sept. 2, 1958, she married Arnold Anderson in Cumberland, Wis. They lived in Wisconsin for one year before moving back to Wallingford. Both lived at Good Samaritan since March 1980. She was a lifelong member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Arnold; two stepsons, Orville Anderson, New Hope, Minn. and Stanley Anderson, Cumberland, Wis.; one brother, Chester Paulson, Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and two brothers, Francis and Carl. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 11, 1984)
