Ole Simonson, who was for many years tiled in this vicinity, was taken last week to Iowa City for medical treatment and is in a critical condition. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 21, 1917)

Word was received here Friday [April 20, 1917] of the death of Ole Simonson at Iowa City that morning where he had been for some time, receiving treatment. The body was brought here for burial and the funeral services were held at the Riverside church Monday afternoon conducted by Ref. Severtson.
