Funeral Rites for Ed Rolfson Held at Wallingford Mon.
Funeral services for Mr. Ed. Rolfson were held on Monday, June 5th from the Wallingford Lutheran church with the Rev. L. G. Hinderaker officiating.

Edward H. Rolfson was born in Jackson, Minn., August 27th, 1874. He passed suddenly away at his home in Graettinger, Iowa on Friday, June 1st, 1944 at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 26 days. He had been in ill health for the past four years. His death was caused by a heart attack. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith as a child.

April 8th, 1903 he was united in marriage to Sophia Jensen. To this union was born seven children, two of whom preceded him in death. James Oliver and Emma Lucille. Surviving him are his wife; four sons and one daughter; Albert of Wallingford, Elvin of Sansalito [Sausalito], Calif., Byron and Emmet in the U.S. navy and Mrs. Albert Norris of Graettinger. Also three grandchildren: Judy Rolfson and Carol Jean and Alan Norris.

After marriage, he and his wife moved to the state of Washington, where he worked in a saw mill for two years. They came back to Iowa for a period of nine months, after which they took up a homestead in North Dakota, where he farmed for 14 years. In 1918 they returned to Iowa where they made their home for the last 26 years.

Besides his immediate family, he leaves to mourn his departure three brothers: Charley of Aberdeen, Washington, Cornelius of Garrison, N.D., and Ben Rolfson of San Francisco, Calif., also one sister, Mrs. S.P. Solberg of Brainard, Minn.; also many other relatives and friends.
