Former Wallingford Man Killed
The Rev. Ole Oliver Refsell, 36, pastor of the Normandale Baptist Church in Bloomington, Minn., was killed in an automobile accident, Friday evening, July 27, 1973 [Hennepin county, MN].The Rev. Mr. Refsell was born July 11, 1937, in Wallingford, to Martin and Amanda (Egeland) Refsell. He graduated from the Estherville High School, and from Bob Jones University of Greenville, S.C. He had attended Central Baptist Church at Camp Douglas, Wisconsin.
The Rev. Mr. Refsell served churches in Camp Douglas, Wis., Indianapolis, ind., and was pastoring the Normandale Baptist Church at the time of his death. He was married Aug. 29, 1959, to Janice Ziebarth of Minneapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Janice, three children, Cynthia, Mark and Paula, all at home; one brother, Orris of Owatonna, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Frederick (Esther) Fitzgerald, Estherville, Mrs. Harold (Barbara) Herbranson of Silver City, and Mrs. Harvey (Dorothy) Schroeder of Estherville. Preceding him in death were his parents, two infant brothers and one infant sister.
Memorial services will be held in the Normandale Baptist Church of Bloomington, Minn., at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mr. Refsell will be laid to rest in the Wallingford Riverside Cemetery, Wallingford, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31st. The Rev. G.O. St. Lawrence of Estherville will officiate.
