Joseph Paul Dies of Hearth Attack in California
Joseph Michael Paul, Los Angeles, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Paul, Oakland, Calif., former residents of Estherville, died in his sleep early yesterday morning. Death was attributed to a heart attack, according to word received here by Frank Fuhrman of Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home. The body is being brought to Estherville for burial. Funeral arrangements and a complete obituary will be published when available. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 6, 1960)

Paul Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Joseph Paul, Los Angeles, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Paul, former Estherville residents, are to be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, the Rev. Father J.H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s cemetery. Mr. Paul died in his sleep Friday morning at Los Angeles with death attributed to a heart attack. His body, accompanied by his parents, is expected to arrive here late this afternoon. Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday morning. A complete obituary for Mr. Paul will be published in tomorrow’s Daily News. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 9, 1960)

Last Rites Held Here for Joseph Paul, 45
Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church for Joseph Michael Paul, 45, former Estherville resident, who died at his home in Los Angeles of a heart attack May 5. The body was brought here for services for services and burial.

Mr. Paul was born here March 25, 1915 and graduated from Estherville High School and Junior College. He attended Iowa State University at Ames after his graduation from the local schools.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army in the Asiatic-Pacific theater. At the time of his death he was general manager of Roller Manufacturing Company of Los Angeles.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Paul [Margaret Wratten Paul] of Oakland, Calif., one brother, DeVere of Los Angeles and one sister, Mrs. J.J. (Isabelle) Magorno of Oakland.

The Rev. James H. Duhigg officiated at the service. Military services were conducted by members of local American Legion and VFW posts. Burial was in St. Patrick’s cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Calhan, Claude Timmins, Michael Reynolds, Earl Bagan, William Hamilton and Edwin Donovan.

Friends and relatives from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. W.F.Wratten of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Stoddard of Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Val Cook and Mr. and Mrs. John Tracy of Sioux Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Burt Lamphere of Omaha.

Mrs. John Nines, Mrs. Lawrence Hullerman and Ed Fischenick of Ellsworth, Minn., and Frank Egan of Adrian, Minn., also attended the rites. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 14, 1960)
