Estherville – Services for Dennis L. Peters, 31, of Waterloo, formerly of Estherville, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with interment in the church cemetery. Father Thomas Nash officiated. Parish Vigil service was held Tuesday evening at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. He died recently [September, 1993] at Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 21, 1961 at Estherville, the son of Edmund and Sophie (Haase) Peters. He attended Estherville schools graduating from high school in 1980. He then attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He remained single. He lived in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Houston, Texas before moving to Waterloo four years ago. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville.

Survivors include his parents, Ed and Dorothy Peters, Estherville; sisters: Danna Zimmerman, Spring, Texas; Susan Pollen, Madrid; Paul Schulman, Deer Park, Texas; Shelley Peters, Waterloo; Katie Peters, Wallingford; Nancy Peters, League City, Texas; Jenny and Mary Ellen Peters, Des Moines; Teresa Peters, Newton, N.H.; brothers: Joe of Estherville and Martin of Pomona, Kans. Step-brothers: Henry Sorensen, Corning; Michael Sorensen, Des Moines; Gary Sorensen, Schaumburg, Ill. and Mark Sorensen, Oklahoma City, Okla. Step-sisters: Rosemany Croner, Christine Rawlings and Annette Dalen of Estherville; Margaret Sorensen, Oklahoma City; June Neal, Plano, Texas and Karen DeMuth. Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie, and one sister, Linda. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 30, 1993)
