J. McMahon Passes Away
John McMahon, age 64, Dies from Heart Trouble Monday
John McMahon, 64, passed away Monday morning from heart trouble. He has been in ill health for some time. He is a long time resident of this community.

Mr. McMahan was extra engineer and fireman on the Rock Island railroad. He was born in Carbon Hill, Ohio, December 17, 1877, the son of Charles McMahon and Susan Toner. He married Tressa Everett of Buchanan County Nov., 1906.

Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Albert Nyles of Estherville, Mrs. Ralph Ebeling of Estherville and Miss Alice McMahon who has been away from home for sometime.

Also three grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held here Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Rev. J.J. Keane officiating, with interment in the Catholic Cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 19, 1942)
