Mrs. F.D. Lyman Dies
Mrs. Fred D. Lyman Sr., 85, died at 10 o’clock this morning at Holy Family hospital. She had suffered a stroke and was hospitalized two weeks ago last Friday. Surviving Mrs. Lyman are her husband, a sister, Mrs. Mary Bormann of Estherville. Rosary will be held at 8:30 Tuesday evening at Sternborg Funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s church. Other details will be published in tomorrow’s Daily News. Rites for Mrs. Lyman Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Fred D. Lyman Sr., 85, who died yesterday morning following two weeks hospitalization as a result of a stroke, will be conducted at 9:30 tomorrow morning at St. Patrick’s church. Rosary is being recited at 8:30 this evening at Sternborg funeral home.

Emma Sturm, daughter of John and Josephine Sturm, was born March 28, 1870 at Preston. She graduated from Preston high school and took up dress making and tailoring for several years.

She then attended and graduated in nursing from Cook county hospital school of nursing in Chicago, where she worked several years as a nurse prior to serving as supervisor for 15 years at the hospital.

Miss Sturm was employed locally as a nurse for two years. She married Fred D. Lyman, April 1, 1930 and then worked in Chicago for two years before settling permanently here in Estherville.

Mrs. Lyman was always devoted to nursing and helped out at the local hospital when needed. Less than 10 years ago when Mrs. Lyman was over 75 years of age, she helped out at the hospital.

Surviving her death are her husband and a sister, Mrs. Mary Bormann of Estherville. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.

Pallbearers for the service tomorrow morning will be August Schaper, Francis Kennedy, M.J. Foley, Frank Campisano, Lewis Kreir and Herman Jensen. Burial will be at the Catholic cemetery.
