Mrs. Anna Burke Dies; Funeral to Be Held Monday
Mrs. Anna Burke, 74, died at 9 p.m. yesterday at her home, 1222 1st Ave. N. She had been ill for some time from a weak heart. She broke one of her hips sometime ago in a fall.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic church. Rosary will be recited tomorrow at 9 p.m. at the Sternborg funeral home.

Mrs. Burke, whose maiden name was Anna Kennedy, was born Feb. 3, 1870, at Naas, county Kildare, Ireland, and came to America when she was 19. She worked in Minneapolis as a bookkeeper for T.M. Roberts. She married Thomas Burke in 1905 at Ellsworth, Minn., and they had one son, Joseph, who lives at Estherville.

Other survivors are two sisters, Miss Mary Kennedy and Mrs. Elizabeth Dowling, both living in Ireland. Mr. Burke preceded his wife in death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 8, 1944)
