County Teacher Dies Following Short Illness
Kathryn [Catherine] Brogan, 58, a teacher in Osceola, Dickinson and Emmet counties for the past 30 years, died late Wednesday night from diabetes and pneumonia in the Holy Family hospital.She became ill Sunday and was taken to the hospital only four hours before she died.
She was born March 25, 1887, in Humboldt county. For the past two years she was a teacher at the Spring Grove school in High Lake district.
Her survivors include one brother, John of Waterloo; one sister, Mrs. A.F. Lynch of Estherville; three nieces, Ms. E.P. Sylvester and Mrs. Kenneth McLaughlin of Ames, and Margaret Lynch of Estherville; three nephews, Everett Scott Brogan of San Diego and Capt. Joseph Brogan of Waterloo, [last line missing] (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 22, 1945)
